Fast frequency response computation for Rayleigh damping
We present a model reduction Lanczos method for the computation of frequency response functions of Rayleigh damping problems. The connection with modal extraction and modal superposition is made. The usual model reduction methods require complex arithmetic. With the proposed method, complex arithmetic is only used for the reduced problem. A numerical example from structural damping is given.
متن کاملFlexible Frequency-Band Reallocation: Complex Versus Real
This paper discusses a new approach for implementing flexible frequencyband reallocation (FFBR) networks for bentpipe satellite payloads which are based on variable oversampled complex-modulated filter banks (FBs). We consider two alternatives to process real signals using real input/output and complex input/output FFBR networks (or simply real and complex FFBR networks, respectively). It is sh...
متن کاملFrequency-Dependent Magnitude Bounds of the Generalized Frequency Response Functions for NARX Model
New magnitude bounds of the frequency response functions for the Nonlinear AutoRegressive model with eXogenous input (NARX) are investigated by exploiting the symmetry of the nth-order generalized frequency response function (GFRF) in its n frequency variables. The new magnitude bound of the nth-order symmetric GFRF is frequency-dependent, and is a polynomial function of the magnitude of the fi...
متن کاملA comparison of spectral magnitude and phase-locking value analyses of the frequency-following response to complex tones.
Two experiments, both presenting diotic, harmonic tone complexes (100 Hz fundamental), were conducted to explore the envelope-related component of the frequency-following response (FFRENV), a measure of synchronous, subcortical neural activity evoked by a periodic acoustic input. Experiment 1 directly compared two common analysis methods, computing the magnitude spectrum and the phase-locking v...
متن کاملRank distributions: Frequency vs. magnitude
We examine the relationship between two different types of ranked data, frequencies and magnitudes. We consider data that can be sorted out either way, through numbers of occurrences or size of the measures, as it is the case, say, of moon craters, earthquakes, billionaires, etc. We indicate that these two types of distributions are functional inverses of each other, and specify this link, firs...
